“Detroit Stayed With Me”,
This necklace grew from my first SNAG conference, SNAG x Detroit — the generosity of artists, the excitement of meeting people I had only known through their work, and the honor of presenting my talk on process to such a thoughtful and welcoming community.
Inspired by projects like Heidelberg, where fragments, memory, and reinvention coexist, and by a city that wears its history openly.
“Detroit Stayed With Me”, one of a kind pendant of: a pierced brass spiculum, forged 10 gauge sterling silver, bezel and post set vintage 1950’s die cast zinc car, a bezel and prong set composition of antique car related tin lithography, an open container element that can hold a small flower, feather etc, and a wheel form element. This composition suspends from a 18 gauge sterling silver organic link chain and closes with a 16 gauge hook. The pendant measures approximately 3×5” and the chain is adjustable up to 18”.
