I often look at birds and think that their masks look like some sort of Roman helmet and this was the inspiration for this abstract bird piece. Created in forged and fabricated sterling silver and brass the helmet is resplendent with plumage of jade discs. The Bird’s eye is tube set faceted tourmaline and the “belly” a beautiful turquoise cabochon. The piece is finished with a patina and is worn as a brooch using the handmade sterling silver and 18 gauge spring steel mechanism and as a pendant using the integrated hidden bale.
