I know, I know.. it’s not February yet.. but today I made this sterling silver and copper heart, inspired by the grille of a vintage automobile.
Two days ago, my brother Eric passed away unexpectedly at the age of 66.
I didn’t set out to make a memorial, or a heart. I simply went into the studio and let my hands do what they have always done. Guide the way. Making has always way easier for me than finding words.
When this piece leaves my studio and finds its way to where it’s meant to be, I hope it carries with it a little of Eric’s gentle spirit.
“66 Miles” is a one of a kind, completely hand fabricated sterling silver and copper brooch/pendant. The piece is worn as a brooch using the handmade sterling silver and 18 gauge spring steel mechanism and while the piece does not have a dedicated bale there are several opportunities to wear as a pendant. The piece measures approximately 3.5×3,25” and is signed, hallmarked and dated 2026. Flat rate insured and tracked USPS Ground Advantage shipping or USPS Priority shipping within the US.
